My COVID Experience: ICU, Recovery & Why?

My COVID Experience

INSIDE: Are you wondering what’s like to be in the ICU with COVID? As I am recovering, I felt it was important to share my first-hand experience.

Disclaimer: This article is in no way telling you what to do or advising you in any way. I'm just sharing my experience with you.

As I write this, I am recovering from Covid. I'm still on Oxygen.

I'm in a state of feeling raw and vulnerable. I was in the ICU in the hospital and I was told that one third of the people that end up there don't come out. My vitals were pretty low. I was really sick.

But I feel compelled to share my story.

This is My Second Go Around With COVID

It started out as a sinus cold and I understand that sometimes that's how it works. I also want to tell you that this is my second go around with COVID.

I had it back in January of 2020 and it started out as a cold in my throat and went down into my chest. At that time, I went to urgent care and they told me that I had pneumonia. I looked like death warmed over.

I went home and I was sick for 6 weeks but I got better and wasn't really sick after that until this go around again.

I have not been vaccinated and I will not get vaccinated due to the fact that I don't trust what is in the vaccine. I have been a homeopath for over 25 years and I feel confident in my body being able to build antibodies.

But on that note, I want to say that, and this isn't only my opinion but I've also heard it from others, that this is a kind of animal that keeps moving. It's not what it originally was. It has changed and I'm sure that is why I got it a second time. It's not the same thing. The second time, it gave me a rough go.

How it Started

Like I said, it started out as a watery cold and then I started to get a little bit sicker and I thought it was just taking a toll on me so I was just resting. And then, it turned quite suddenly. I probably had the cold for about a week and a half and then it changed on me.

The mucus became like glue. It was so thick that I couldn't get it off my tongue, and it made me be unable to catch a breath because I couldn't get it out of my throat. It was literally like pulling it out of my nose in strings. It was pretty harsh and there was a lot of blood in it.

And normally, my cough was just in my throat, but this was moving so it didn't feel good to me. I knew something wasn't right at that point, and I had no appetite, except for maybe a little bit of fruit that was very juicy like strawberries.

I was taking some supplements and vitamins but I was still getting sicker.

Deciding to Go to the Hospital

My son came in from Seattle and he took my vitals because he was an EMT at one point and he said my vitals weren't good at all and my oxygen was really low. You're supposed to be over 90 and it was 71, which is not good at all.

He tried talking me into going to the hospital. He called an ambulance and they came and took vitals and urged me to go, but here's what I want to say…

It was something that I really had to get myself prepared for because although I have never been in the hospital except to have babies (and that was about 40 years ago), I've never been sick like this. I've always taken care of myself as a homeopath with what I needed. So I've only ever visited people in the hospital.

What I needed to do was prepare myself because I kind of knew what I was walking into and I wanted to sleep one more night in my bed and get prepared. And I knew that 8 hours could make a difference, but on the other hand, I kept checking in with my spirit guide family and I didn't see that it was going to go really bad for me.

But that didn't mean I wasn't in for a bumpy road.

Tests & Treatments

So the next morning, my son took me to the emergency room and I was admitted to the ICU for 5 days. They did a lot of tests, which definitely came back with COVID and pnemonia, and they could hear the congestion in my lungs, especially in the lower lobe on the left side.

I had no energy, although I did start to build an appetite. I did take a steroid when I was in the hospital, which I've never done before. I know what they're all about, but in this case never having taken them before, I felt I was okay taking them for a couple days.

I also took an anti-coagulant because there's a lot of concern with COVID about blood clotting, so I was okay with taking that for a few days too.

They told me I was going to be in for a few weeks because I wasn't looking good. But everything started to change positively quite quickly.

And they give you this little plastic thing to breathe into and the ball goes up and then it drops down and there's a certain point you have to reach. I hit the mark and even went higher so I was able to take a breath in even though at that point I could still feel discomfort in my chest and I was not quite able to take that really deep breath.

But I'm working on it and I continue to work at that all the time because that is really important to circulate the air in the lungs.

So they moved me down to the regular floor for overnight and they did more bloodwork and when I talked to the doctor, I said if I'm not taking anything and I'm just getting oxygen, I can do that at home. I can sleep better at home and I can eat better at home. I will feel better so that will add to the repair in my body.

So she agreed and I really appreciated them at the hospital here. They all did a great job and they work very hard to do the best to help people recover. What saddens them is when they work so hard and people leave and don't follow through or they don't make it. It's got to be pretty rough to watch that happen. But they did a fantastic job and I will always be grateful for that.

Going Home

So they let me go home and they came to give me oxygen. When I came home, I got ahold of some Ivermectin. It is not easy to get ahold of because you have to order it across the border. It takes some weeks but I suggest getting some for yourself as it would be advantageous to have it on hand.

I want to say that when I took it, it wasn't a sudden change but since I started taking it (and I've been home now for about a week now), I am much better than where I was. My energy levels are much better and I'm eating better.

So I started taking it the second day I got home when it finally came in, and I took it once a day for the 5 days, which is what is prescribed online.

I did some acupuncture the other day, which I think really helped a lot and I went back to the GP for them to check my vitals. They looked good but my oxygen still can go higher so I'm still going to stay on the oxygen because ultimately everything boils down to oxygen in the body.

Everything.

The food you eat, whatever you do, everything is about turning it into oxygen and feeding everything because that's what your body runs on. So I'm being intelligent about taking the oxygen until I no longer need it.

The Spiritual Side of This

There's a spiritual side to this too and when I first came home, I was just focused on gaining more energy and strength, and now that I'm feeling a little bit better, I'm focusing more on extracting what this is all about.

There are many facets to this and I'm going to share that in my next blog because it deserves it's own time to talk about and also some of the dark side that I experienced while I was really sick.

One thing I will say is that I did check in several times while I was really sick asking if this was my out. Was I leaving the earth plane? And I didn't hear that but I did hear that I was sick and that there was concern and that I needed to take care of myself in the proper manner because I do have things that I can do while I've chosen to be here.

A Message for You

This is real. I don't know what your beliefs are about COVID but this is a real animal and like I said, it was very different the first time I got it. Now getting it again almost 2 years later, it has morphed maybe a little more dangerously because it takes on a new side to it. Almost like it's stronger.

As a side note to this, people who have been on a lot of antibiotics, they don't build their immune system really well so they'll find that when they contract some kind of microorganism, it is very strong.

So I feel that it's really taken on a nature that they really don't have a great understanding of in the hospitals as to which way it's going to go for a person. Because a person can be going one way and then take a turn.

This is quite a strange animal and I am so grateful to be here, to be alive. When you're pretty sick, it's pretty intense and there's a part of you that just wants to get better but there's also a part of you that is so sick that you just don't even care. It's strange but real.

Take Care of Yourself

So please take care of yourself. There are so many ways to build immunity and I believe what happened to me is that I had been working about 5-6 weeks straight with no day off and I was just down for the count and it was no good.

I knew something was coming, I could feel it, I knew it was going to be big. I knew that I almost couldn't avoid it and that I was going to get something. I didn't know quite to this degree, and I didn't have all of that information but I could feel it.

So I'm really grateful to be here. It makes you realize a lot of things and I'm going to share more of that in future articles.

Let’s Open a Discussion

I want to know what your thoughts are about this so please leave a comment. I think this is going to be around for another couple years and we need to open this up and talk about things. And not just from the scared fearful point but really talk about things.
